The personal holiness of Christ was more strikingly presented in the sin offering than in any of the other sacrifices. The Holy Spirit through Moses said, It is most holy.” The sin offering, whose blood was brought into the sanctuary, symbolized Christ bearing before God the sin of the whole world. The sin offering, the blood of which was not so brought in, but its flesh was eaten by the priests, presents Christ as making His own the sins of the individual sinner who believes upon Him.

The meat offering contained no blood, as is obvious, but it was conjoined with an offering that was literally soaked in blood, and we speak of the burnt offering. The burnt offering and the sin offering being slain upon the one spot sets out the unity of the death of Christ in its two aspects: at Golgotha, He was at once — in the same moment – accursed of God as the sin offering, and beloved of the Father as the burnt offering.

Sin Against A Fellow Believer – Part III

We are to now study the law of the meat offering, which, in effect, was a grain or cereal offering, which could be constituted as a thank offering. Yes, the meat offering was to ever be a memorial of what Christ would do at the Cross. We must never forget that! It must be sung in our songs, proclaimed in our messages, explained in our teaching, and, in effect, the very center of all that we are in Christ and all that we believe.
